The humble toasted tomato sandwich. One of my favourite simple summer suppers. When it’s too hot to cook, and the tomatoes are just coming off the vine in real abundance, nothing tastes as good as thick slices of local tomato between lightly toasted sourdough smeared with butter *and* mayo. Or get fancy with some gorgeous heirlooms and a good sprinkling of fresh basil. Add a few slices of salami and/or cheese for extra protein. Gluten-free option also pictured 😉

We’ve got the bread (do we HAVE the bread!), we’ve got the tomatoes. We’ve even got bison salami and organic raw milk cheese. See you in the park, 4 to 7 pm tonight!
